Yippee! I finally have made it through surgery, and let me tell you, I am SOOOOOO happy that it is over.
I checked in at 6:30am on Wednesday morning and did not get sent down for my operation till 2:15pm. That was a hard few hours of nervousness, hunger and thirst! I must admit, a few tears of fear were shed while my anesthetist was trying very hard to get some cannula into my hand (apologies for those who dislike needles.) Who knew how much dehydration and coldness can hide your veins? But, anyways! I was awake within a few hours, wondering where I was and being complimented by all the recovery nurses on my french plaited hair. I thought if I was to leave them in plaits I wouldn't have to worry about how wild it would look. Typical girl, aye? Good news though - my operation went really well, new ligaments are placed and I didn't need to have the bigger procedure done. So overall, I am glad I went through with it. |
With that in mind, I still have a loooooong way to go. I'm in the right frame of mind though. So fingers crossed, all the steps I need to take go well.
Have a good week,
